The 10-time Pro Bowler shared his feelings about the play on Wednesday's episode of his podcast.

"It's been a tough f*cking go around for the past two days," Kelce said, via "New Heights." "Yeah, it's just, you put in all this f*cking work and hopes that it pays off. And right now, just for whatever f*cking reason, man, it's little things. It's, I don't know, discipline. I feel like I've always had the answers in years past, and this year, it's just, I just can't find them.

"But obviously, looking at the playoffs, this is a tough reality to be in. I don't know just how we've always found a way in years past. So it's a sh*tty f*cking feeling, especially dropping the f*cking ball late in the game like that when we were on our last f*cking chance to make. ... I hear you put in all this work to be there for your guys. And I just, I just wasn't that."

Mahomes targeted Kelce on a second-and-10 from the Kansas City 8-yard line while trailing 17-10 with 3:40 left in the game. The ball deflected off Kelce's hands and was intercepted by Houston linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. The Texans went on to kick a field goal with 30 seconds left to seal the win.

The tight end finished with one catch on five targets for eight yards. It was his second game with just one catch since 2019. Kelce refused an interview twice following the loss.

Patrick Mahomes on Travis Kelce's dropped catch

Patrick Mahomes addressed the media about Travis Kelce’s fourth-quarter error that proved costly in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. The quarterback called his tight end a champion, and he also admitted that he could have thrown the pass better.

"I know we’ll give it everything we have and give ourselves a chance and see what happens," Mahomes said after the game.

The loss to Houston (8–5) eliminated Kansas City (6-7) from the AFC West title race. It also snapped Andy Reid’s streak of nine consecutive division championships.

Travis Kelce and Co.'s remaining games are against the LA Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs must win out and hope for favorable results to reach the postseason.
