The Philadelphia Eagles are united on one front; they’re all to blame for their current struggles. That’s the message coming through after the team’s rough Black Friday outing against the Chicago Bears last week in which they were beaten 24-15. The reigning Super Bowl champions are on a two-game losing streak, with plenty of criticisms being flung at the offense.
The bulk of the blame for their current struggles seems to be going to last season’s top rusher, Saquon Barkley, and Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts. Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has also been the subject of widespread criticism, as his group ranks 24th in the NFL with 304.8 yards per game.
Speaking to The Athletic ahead of their next game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, an unnamed Eagles player said:
“It’s not just one thing that’s in our way. It’s not just Jalen (Hurts), it’s not just Saquon (Barkley), it’s not just (OC Kevin) Patullo, it’s not just the offensive line. … It’s a little bit of everyone.”

They vowed that there would be:
“No-BS discussions” ahead of a “Monday Night Football” meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers.”
The Eagles are in danger of losing three in a row on Monday, which would equal their longest streak under coach Nick Sirianni.
Against the Bears last week, Barkley averaged 4.3 yards per carry, significantly better than his previous game against the Dallas Cowboys, when that mark was at 2.2.
The Eagles’ offense could make a strong statement on Monday
The players may not be singling out others on the team, but that’s been going on throughout most of this season in the media. The offense has received the brunt of criticism, and on Monday, they have a chance to make a real statement.
That’s because they’re facing one of the best defensive units in the league in the Chargers. This season, LA are allowing 275.3 yards per game, the third-lowest average in the NFL. They’ve been particularly tough against the pass, allowing just 168.3 yards per game, the second-lowest average in the league.
Monday, though, could be an opportunity for Saquon Barkley to show his capabilities from last season finally. The Chargers rank 12th in rush defense this season, allowing 106.9 yards per game. Former Eagles center Jason Kelce recently said he wants to see Barkley finally find his game this season.
That may be one of the few areas the Eagles can exploit on Monday against a rock-solid all-around defense in Los Angeles. The Eagles seem destined for the post-season, but they need to show they’re ready to retain their title, and that means improving a sputtering offense.
There’s no better opportunity to show they’re ready to repeat as champions than on Monday night.
