Retired Houston Texans star JJ Watt shared his frustration with the league's officiating on roughing the passer calls. On Wednesday's episode of the "Pat McAfee" show, he highlighted how this rule has gone unchecked for quite a while now.Watt also said that roughing the passer calls and decision-making by the officials on these matters are ruining the current state of the game. He used a few examples from the Week 11 showdown between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Los Angeles Chargers to make his point."I'm frustrated with it," Watt said. "I've been furstrated with it for a while. I've remained frustrated with it. I try and call out in the games that we've had when I see it. ... I think this game (Jaguars vs Charger), I didn't get to watch the whole game."But from my understanding, this one was first and then there was another one later when the guy kind of has the quarterback in the grasp and lets him go. ... Because that guy knows ... if I keep driving my feet and drive him into the ground, I'm going to get another penalty."That's my problem is that if you don't hit them high, don't hit them low, you don't land your body weight on them ... how do you want them to play? ... It's so frustrating when a guy makes a great play and gets punished."JJ Watt himself was a great pass rusher during his 12-season stint in the league with the Texans and the Cardinals. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year tallied 586 total tackles, 114.5 sacks, 317 quarterback hits, and 195 tackles for loss.JJ Watt calls out the NFL after Myles Garrett gets snubbed for AFC Defensive Player of the WeekMyles Garrett put up an impressive performance during the Cleveland Browns' 23-16 loss against the Baltimore Ravens. The $160 million DE had five solo tackles and 4.0 sacks on the field. However, it did not win him the AFC Defensive Player of the Week Award. Instead, the honor was given to Miami Dolphins LB Jordyn Brook, who had 20 tackles during their victory over the Commanders. JJ Watt was unhappy with Garrett's snub and took to social media to call out the NFL for this decision."The requirement that your team win the game for you to win an individual award is very bizarre. It's best defensive played of the Week. Not best defensive player whose offense also played well this week," Watt tweeted.JJ Watt's brother, T.J. Watt, also plays linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers. This season, he has tallied 38 total tackles, 6.0 sacks, and eight tackles for loss while his team leads the AFC North with a 6-4 record.
