Jordan Love has come under the scanner after the Green Bay Packers suffered back-to-back defeats. The Packers quarterback has hit somewhat of a slump, and Love's struggles could cost the team a playoff berth.

On Thursday, analyst Dan Orlovsky called out Love for his negative approach.

"This is what happens when people say, 'Quarterback, protect the football,' I'm not paying you $55 million to protect the ball," Orlovsky said on "First Take". "You pay players like me to protect the football. And that's not being joking, like legit. I'm paying Jordan Love to be great, and it's way too cautious in the narrative around Love. This is what has bothered me so much about the season."

Orlovsky also urged Love, who signed a four-year, $220 million contract extension with Green Bay in July 2024, to be more aggressive on the field.

"He's not cutting it loose," Orlovsky said. "If I was Matt LaFleur, I would sit there and say, 'Jordan, start throwing the ball downfield. If you throw an interception, it's on me. If you throw an interception, we traded 7,000 picks for Micah Parsons. We paid him a billion dollars.' If you and I would agree, Monday night, there's people open, but for some reason he won't throw the football."

Based on his current deal with Green Bay, Love earns $55 million in average annual salary.

Love has failed to score a touchdown pass in each of his past two games. He has posted 2,247 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and three interceptions, leading the Packers to a 5-3-1 record.

The Giants, who have lost four games in a row, are virtually out of the playoff picture. They also fired Brian Daboll from his coaching role on Monday and named Mike Kafka as their interim head coach.

The Packers will be eager to end their two-game losing streak when they travel to face New York in Week 11.
