"I'm just completely useless" - Jason Kelce admits turning into 'lousy dad' by ditching parenthood responsibility on Thanksgiving for specific time

Even though Jason Kelce has often been praised as a father, the ex-Eagles center sometimes enjoys ditching his parenting responsibilities. He admitted on Wednesday how he turns into a "lousy dad" on Thanksgiving.

Kelce started by revealing what an average Thanksgiving day looked like at his house. His wife, Kylie, and her mom, Lisa, take over kitchen duties and get all the family dinner preparations done. However, instead of watching the kids, Kelce sneaks out of the house.

"I'm just a huge inconvenience on Thanksgiving because Kylie and her mom are making everything," Jason said (Timestamp: 1:07:10), via the "New Heights" podcast. "And instead of just, like, watching the kids, I go next door and fry a turkey with (my dad) Ed. So for an hour of the day, I'm just completely useless, and making an extra turkey that we don't need."

Apart from his mother-in-law, Jason's mother, Donna Kelce, also joins his family for the celebrations. He revealed a major Thanksgiving tradition that his mom continues to do every year.

“For Thanksgiving, Kylie and her mom do the majority of the cooking," Kelce said on Friday, via People. "(My) mom comes over, she does her dinner rolls that she's made since we were kids, and then the past couple years, I've been frying a turkey."

Parenting hasn't been a walk in the park for Jason Kelce, particularly handling kids' tantrums. He shared an incident involving a fight with his daughter, Wyatt, which ruined almost 30 minutes of his day.

"I’m in a full fight with Wyatt over a f***ing waffle," Kelce said on Nov. 7, via the "New Heights" podcast. "Ruins about 30 minutes of our entire day because she wants a whole waffle, and I’m trying to explain to her that there’s only four waffles and there’s like f***ing 15 people."

Kelce ended up making her daughter share the waffle because he wasn't "raising some spoiled little f***ing rotten child."
