The Browns include playcalls on the wristband of players and Sanders had some trouble with it during the first quarter of Sunday's game. Sanders had to run to the sideline to get a play call from Stefanski and fix his wristband in the second quarter.

Former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe discussed the wristband controversy on the "Nightcap" podcast with Chad Johnson, urging Brown owner Jimmy Haslam to ask for answers.

"I've never heard of this before, and I don't know how it happened," Sharpe said. "We don't know why it happened, but if I'm Jimmy Haslam, Imma need some answers.

"I want to know how, for the first two drives, the wrong plays were on the sheet, and we had to take the wristbands and make some adjustments to it. I need to know why. Mistakes happen, but not egregiousness in business."

NFL sideline reporter Allison Williams reported that Sanders had his wristband fixed at the start of the second quarter:

"Prior to this possession, when Shedeur was on the sideline, they removed the wristband with the play calls in there and they made a change to one of the sheets and some tweaks."

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski addressed Shedeur Sanders' wristband controversy

Following Sunday's blowout loss, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski was asked about the issue surrounding Shedeur Sanders' wristband during the first half. Stefanski said there was a "miscommunication."

"There was a miscommunication early," Stefanski said. "The wristband got something on it or whatever it was...we got that fixed pretty quickly."

However, Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders had a different explanation about the incident.

"Oh no, the card just fell out," Sanders said. "It just fell out on the sideline. That was it."

Apart from the wristband issue, Sanders had an underwhelming game as the Browns rookie went 18-35 for 177 yards without a touchdown and three interceptions.
