Nick Sirianni had a lot to answer for about A.J. Brown in his media availability on Wednesday. There’s been a lot of controversy around the star wide receiver within the Philadelphia Eagles team since the start of the season, and despite the handling internally, the issues linger.
Around half of the questions Sirianni had to answer from media members on Wednesday were about Brown and his situation with the team. Following a repeat sequence of questions around the wide receiver, the coach shut down further questions on him from the reporters present.
“I'm close to being done answering questions about this,” Sirianni said. “He's working hard, he is a big part of this game plan, and he'll be a big part of the game plan going forward. He's working like crazy when he's here. I'm excited to have him.”
The controversy around A.J. Brown stemmed from his frustration with his role and usage in the team's offense. The lack of target frustration hasn't gone away, taking a look at the last couple of games. Nonetheless, Nick Sirianni believes the issue is not a distraction for the team when questioned about it.

“No, I don't think so,” Sirianni said. “Again, you can only go from your interactions with everybody and the way they go about their work on a daily basis that you guys aren't able to see, but no, it's business as usual.”
Nick Sirianni dismisses the idea that A.J. Brown is not targeted in the offensive plays
In his media availability on Wednesday, Nick Sirianni was questioned on why A.J. Brown was targeted less in the Eagles’ 10-7 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. The coach, however, dismisses the notion made by the report, citing an incident in the game.
“If you look at the game and how the game went, there are a lot of plays in that game that are going to them that, for different reasons, don't,” Sirianni said. “For instance, Smitty's touchdown, that play is going to AJ. They took it away, and he threw it over the top.
“You can't look at stats and just say this is what's happening. You can't paint the picture that way. I know that sometimes is all the information that you guys may have, but you can't look at it that way and just say here's how the game is playing out, like there are reasons and different things.”
Brown recorded two receptions for 13 yards against the Packers. He was targeted less than running back Saquon Barkley, who had three receptions for 43 yards. Nonetheless, Nick Sirianni noted that the stats don't paint the whole picture, and he's counting on the wide receiver for the rest of the season.
