Terrion Arnold doesn't seem to be a fan of the NFL announcers. The Detroit Lions' cornerback believes that while criticism is necessary, the manner in which many commentators deliver their takes lacks professionalism.
During Tuesday's episode of the "St. Brown Podcast," Arnold shared his opinion on the matter.
"I be hating when commentators do that, I wish for the commentator guy who's talking crazy like you could just pull up their tape what you would have did, unless it's somebody like Tom Brady knows other guys like that, but like be real bro," Arnold said. (26:48)
"Some of them guys that be up there you be like, fam you ain't, you wasn't that back in the day bro... You have do your job but you don't have to go 'ah he's a special teams or...' you could have just said man wakeup call, man. Well, we're looking forward to continuing to see how he plays like, you feel me? It's other ways to go about that."

What particularly bothered Terrion Arnold was the dismissive tone some commentators use when discussing young or struggling players. Rather than framing underperformance as a learning opportunity or acknowledging growth potential, some broadcasters resort to demeaning language.
Arnold himself has faced considerable scrutiny throughout his young career. The 2024 first-round pick struggled early in his rookie season with penalties and coverage lapses, drawing criticism from analysts and broadcasters.
Terrion Arnold's performance this season
Terrion Arnold has experienced a roller-coaster second-year campaign with the Lions. Arnold has played six games this season, recording 25 total tackles, eight assists, seven passes defended and one interception, following a shoulder injury that limited his availability late in the preseason.
Arnold's most impressive outing came against the Chicago Bears in Week 2, when he recorded six tackles and one pass deflection. He managed six tackles with two assists against the Cleveland Browns.
The CB missed three consecutive games for the Detroit Lions from late September through mid-October due to a right shoulder injury that initially threatened to end his 2025 season. He suffered the injury during the Lions' Week 5 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals and missed the next two games, against the Kansas City Chiefs (Week 6) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 7).
The Lions will face the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Arnold would aim to shake off the ghosts of his last two outings and contribute more to the team.
