Brown, who suffered an ankle injury against the Green Bay Packers at the end of last month, was a doubt for the game as he was unable to walk without crutches.

However, the Lions wide receiver started feeling better at the start of last week and recovered in time for the game against the Cowboys last Thursday. The three-time Pro Bowler explained what went behind the scenes in the lead up to the game.

"So honestly, after the game, the Packers game, when I heard it the next day, I woke up, I kid you not, I couldn't walk," Brown said. "I was on crutches, got my MRI, got everything done, went back to the facility, got treatment, they gave me crutches and a scooter. I actually couldn't walk and put no pressure on it. ... Then going to bed Monday, I was like, I gotta play. I gotta make it happen some way, somehow.

"Tuesday, I wake up hoping that it's gonna feel better. I wake up, you know, your first few steps when you get out of bed, it's like, you can tell if it's gotten better. And I was like, 'This sh*t feels the same, bro.' So I was kind of bummed. Wednesday, I would say I knew I was going to play and then Thursday, you know, kept getting treatment. They kept working on it, the treatment, the training staff, and then I was able to play. So it was just crazy."

The Lions quarterback said Brown returning to the lineup uplifted the team ahead of the Cowboys game.

"He’s as important to our team as anyone in the league," Goff said. "And I think he gave everyone a little bit of juice on game day. When we saw him out there running as if nothing was wrong, preparing the right way on game day and being ready to go after what he dealt with throughout the week, it gave everyone like, ‘Alright, if this guy’s gonna go, let’s go do this.’
"It was awesome to have him out there. He’s a leader for us and it was an incredible performance by him."
