Shedeur Sanders spent his entire collegiate career under the guidance of his dad, Coach Prime. From Jackson State to the Colorado Buffaloes, the father-son duo were inseparable. During the 2024 season, the quarterback was named the winner of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award after leading the Buffs to a 9-4 record and an Alamo Bowl appearance.During Wednesday's press conference, Shedeur Sanders opened up about the impact of his dad's coaching on his life. He also highlighted how Deion Sanders would not be pleased with the interception that he threw during their 31-29 loss to the Titans last Sunday."During the game and everything, I always hear, I always hear his voice in my ear," Shedeur said. "In certain situations, or everything. Like there's a lot of situations that I know his expectation for his is the highest."Anybody with this, you know, so that's where playing for him my whole life made it easier to come and play anywhere else because his expectation, what he has done himself even being a player where he understands quarterbacks and everything. So, yeah, definitely it's hard on me to tell me get completions, definitely telling things like recap of the things that I need to do better."Shedeur Sanders took over as the starting quarterback of the Browns after Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion in Week 11 during their loss to the Ravens. Against the Titans in Week 14, he completed 23 of 42 passes for 364 yards, four total touchdowns, and an interception.So far in four games, Shedeur has tallied 769 yards and five TDs passing with three interceptions to his name.Kevin Stefanski names Shedeur Sanders as QB1 for the remainder of the seasonDespite Sunday's loss, Shedeur Sanders put up a decent performance.After the game, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Coach Prime's son will remain as the QB1 for the remainder of the season."I think all long, as you know, with our quarterbacks and our young players, you're always making sure that you're making the right decisison for our guys," Stefanski said. "I think he (Shedeur) has constantly and consistently gotten better in each one of these games. And how he's approaced these games, he's been working hard."So I feel good about where his development is heading. There are always going to be plays that he can be better and those type of things. But he's very intentional about getting better each and every game that he's out there."The Browns are placed last in the AFC North with a 3-10 record and a two-game losing streak. They next face the Chicago Bears (9-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
