Former Washington Commanders quarterback Robert Griffin III blasted the team after it failed to make a game-winning field goal in the final seconds of regulation. The first-ever Madrid game ended with the Miami Dolphins cashing in on the Commanders' miss and took a 16-13 overtime loss.

Griffin shared his disappointment on social media, asking how the team went from being a field goal away from a win to losing after making more mistakes in overtime.

"HOW THE FUDGE DO YOU MISS THAT GAME WINNING KICK?$?!! COME ON MAN," Griffin tweeted.

With 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Matt Gay attempted a 56-yard field goal that went wide right. Regulation ended with a 13-13 tie. Marcus Mariota, who is filling in for second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels, was intercepted in the very first scrimmage play of overtime.

He was intercepted by cornerback Jack Jones after throwing a pass intended for tight end Zach Ertz. The Dolphins recovered the ball, and after three De'Von Achane runs, Riley Patterson connected a 29-yard field goal to give the Dolphins the win at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The Dolphins improved to 4-7 with this result, keeping their playoff hopes alive, whereas the Commanders are farther away from the postseason, and Jayden Daniels is expected to miss more games.

After making it to the NFC championship game in 2024, the Commanders have navigated tough seas this year.

Former Commanders QB Robert Griffin III called out Dan Quinn over handling of Jayden Daniels' injury

Robert Griffin III had some things to get off his chest after Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated elbow in Week 9 of the season. Head coach Dan Quinn kept the second-year quarterback in the game after suffering the injury, which didn't sit well with the 2012 No. 1 overall pick.

"I'm not a doctor, but all I know is the emotion of watching him with seven minutes left down 38-7. And my first thought is, 'Why are they still in the game?' ...I understand, you wanna play till the end, but the injuries he's already had this year and last year, why's he in the game? Doesn't make sense," Griffin tweeted.
