Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones is once again keeping fans guessing ahead of the NFL trade deadline. He addressed ongoing rumors linking the team to defensive stars Maxx Crosby and Trey Hendrickson.

“There hasn’t been anything close to a deal,” Jones said on Tuesday, via 105.3 The Fan. “We’re looking at all phases of our roster. I don’t know if we will or not (make a trade).”

While Jones admitted “all options are there” to improve the roster, he made it clear that no move is imminent.

“I can tell you this right now, there is not a trade in my mind, the beginning and end of one, as we sit here and talk," Jones said. "That I would do.”

It is no secret that the Cowboys defense has struggled since Micah Parsons was traded in August after a long contractual standoff. When asked about the team potentially trading for a linebacker, Jones gave a cryptic answer.

“Not necessarily,” Jones said. “Not at all. But possibly so. Now, how about that for an answer?”

Dallas is expecting some reinforcements soon, with linebacker DeMarvion Overshown set to make his season debut on Nov. 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He underwent season-ending knee injury in 2024.

However, injuries remain a major concern for the Cowboys. Cornerback Trevon Diggs, who is already on injured reserve, is dealing with a new knee injury.

As trade chatter intensifies, Jones’ trademark vagueness leaves fans with one takeaway: to expect the unexpected in Dallas.

Jerry Jones reveals Trevon Diggs’ injury is to his “other knee,” not the reconstructed one

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones provided a surprising update on star cornerback Trevon Diggs’ health. He revealed that his latest setback involves his right knee and not the surgically repaired left one.

“Diggs’ biggest problem is he is injured and it’s not the same knee as he has been doing his rehab with,” Jones said on Tuesday, via 105.3 The Fan. “No, not at all. It’s his other knee that’s injured, not his reconstructed knee.”

Jones was also asked if Diggs has played his last game this season.

“I don’t see that today at all," Jones said. "He’s got to get well, and he hasn’t been.”

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer confirmed the knee “has been problematic throughout the season” but hopes Diggs can return later this campaign.
