Jason Whitlock criticized LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford on Sunday after the veteran threw consecutive interceptions in the first half against Carolina.
Stafford's recent surge propelled him near the front of MVP conversations. The NFL media personality posted on X following Stafford’s miscues in the first and second quarter.
“No one wants to be NFL MVP. As soon as someone becomes the front-runner, he wets the bed. Stafford,” Whitlock tweeted.

Rams swing back after Matthew Stafford's interceptions

One of Matthew Stafford's turnovers came in the red zone, ending a promising possession. His throw bounced off Panthers defensive tackle Derrick Brown's helmet, and safety Nick Scott grabbed the deflection. Carolina didn't convert the turnover into points, but the drive stalled.
The other turnover was returned the opposite direction for a defensive touchdown that flipped the early tone of the game. It gave the Panthers a 14-7 lead late in the first quarter.
The Rams steadied themselves as the offense regrouped. A deep completion set up another touchdown connection with Davante Adams, tying the game at 14-14 early in the second quarter. Blake Corum powered in a 2-yard score after Xavier Smith's 51-yard grab set up the short opportunity, giving the Rams a 21-17 halftime edge.
Carolina responded out of halftime with an aggressive scoring drive to reclaim the lead.
LA answered in the fourth quarter. Kyren Williams broke through for a 7-yard touchdown run that capped an 89-yard march. Puka Nacua made a one-handed, 30-yard reception in tight coverage during the drive.
Corum contributed a 34-yard rush that gave him a career-high 80 yards in the game. Williams' score put the Rams back on top 28-24 with 9:58 left in the fourth quarter.
