Jon Gruden believes that Shedeur Sanders is being overhyped after his first win as the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns. On Wednesday, during an interview with Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports, the ex-NFL coach downplayed Shedeur's performance during their 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12. He also highlighted how the rookie quarterback's touchdown was because of a bubble screen play."I would pump that brakes on that a little bit," Gruden said. "The throw we keep watching was against an all out blitz. The Browns don't even pick up to blitz. It's a horrible blitz by the Raiders because they don't contain a right handed quarterback and let him out to his right. He made a great throw."But I'm not going to jump off the table yet because he threw a bubble screen for a 70-yard touchdown against the worst entry I've ever seen on defense. They relied on the wildcat, they relied on their defense to win that game yesterday. You're right. That was as a bad a Raider performance as on offense as I've ever seen. But, Shedeur did get the win. But I don't think those other 17 of 18 quarterbacks that lost, faced a team that played that poorly."Against the Raiders, Shedeur Sanders completed 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards and one interception. His passing touchdown came in the fourth quarter when he found RB Dylan Sampson with a 66-yard pass, who ran to the end zone. However, this win helped the Browns bring an end to their three-game losing streak and put up a 3-8 record.Kevin Stefanski has high praise for Shedeur SandersOn Wednesday, Kevin Stefanski praised Shedeur Sanders ahead of his first home game for the Browns. He highlighted how the rookie quarterback's offensive performance has energized the team. Stefanski also praised Shedeur Sanders' ability to remain calm and collected under center."He's always done a nice job of that," Stefanski said as per ESPN. "What we appreciate about all our players in authenticity. He's the same guy every single day. Obviously, game day, there's juice that comes with that. There's excitement that comes with that, but he's played at that position for a long time. He knows how to make sure he keeps the main thing."Before declaring for this year's NFL draft, Shedeur Sanders played for Jackson State and the Colorado Buffaloes during his collegiate career. During his last two seasons in Boulder, the quarterback recorded 7,364 yards and 64 TDs passing and was awarded with the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in 2024.
