"Bro really said ‘I’m broke’ and then started auctioning the drip," another added.
"Bro needs a new financial advisor," a third commented.

Here are a few more reactions.

"Yes, 100% he mismanaged his finances, but with endorsements his gross is actually more than $100 mill….but his take home is far less. Especially playing in New York/New Jersey. Too much bling not enough financial discipline," one wrote.

"What happened to that 14 mill he literally stole from the ravens," another added.
"This is like selling the PlayStation, when you go bust," a user tweeted.

During an appearance on "The Pivot" podcast in October, Beckham said earning $100 million across five years in the NFL doesn't help a player create generational wealth.

“I’ve always explained this to people, bro, you give somebody a five-year, $100-million contract — what is it really?" Beckham said. "It’s five years for 60 (million). You’re getting taxed. Do the math, that’s 12 a year that you have to spend, use, save, invest, flaunt, whatever.

“’I’mma buy a car, I’mma give my momma a house.’ Everything costs money. So, if you’re spending $4 million a year, that’s really $40 million over five years, eight a year.”

Fans on social media slammed Beckham for his comments.
