During his injury absence, he has attracted much media coverage for his off-field behavior. Last month, he was spotted cageside at UFC 322, which was held at Madison Square Garden. Days later, he appeared on an episode of WWE Raw alongside teammates Abdul Carter and Roy Robertson-Harris and comedian Andrew Schulz, even shoving The Judgment Day's JD McDonagh during a scuffle.

During a virtual appearance on Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson's Amazon Prime Video show Good Sports, he discussed Giants general manager Joe Schoen's attitude towards it:

Former Giants TE praises Cam Skattebo's "old-school" playstyle

Before his injury, Cam Skattebo had amassed 410 yards and five touchdowns on 101 carries, as well as 207 yards and two touchdowns on 24 receptions. His "old-school" playstyle drew praise from former tight end Jeremy Shockey:

"Cam's got amazing energy and power," Shockey told Hard Rock Bet. "It's so fun to watch him on TV, and you can see how he energizes the whole team. I really appreciate the way he plays, and I’m sure the fans do, too."

He continued:

"It’s awesome to see how big his heart is, and he plays every snap with such courage and excitement. He's another amazing young talent the Giants currently have. I'm sure he'll be healthy pretty soon, so he should be ready to go when next season comes around."

Shockey's recovery assessment may be on point, as earlier this month, Skattebo released a video of himself walking into the Giants' practice facility without a cast.
