The veteran quarterback suffered the injury in the fourth quarter and left the game. The 35-year-old returned to the game after missing two offensive plays. Kenny Pickett played the two snaps in Smith's absence.

Raiders coach Pete Carroll confirmed that Smith sustained a thigh injury but didn't think it was a serious issue.

"It's a thigh bruise," Carroll said. "It's not like some other injuries. This is not one that he can't come back from."

Although Smith returned later in the second half, the veteran quarterback laboured through his plays. After the game, Smith admitted he was in a "lot of pain" after the injury.

"That's just kind of how I'm wired," Smith said. "I never want to leave my teammates out there alone. I feel like it's a big responsibility of mine to be out there and to do whatever I can to help us win. I felt like I could try to tough it out, and that's what I tried to do."

Geno Smith sustained the injury after Broncos defensive lineman Malcolm Roach landed on Smith, following a trip by Nik Bonitto. Raider coach Pete Carroll praised the quarterback's resilient attitude after he re-entered the game with an injury.

"He wanted to go back in in the worst way," Carroll said. "He wanted to finish the game for his teammates. He got whacked in the quad, got a quad bruise or something, contusion, whatever it is. He got smacked. That's just him fighting."

According to the Raiders HC, the 35-year-old quarterback should be available for the team's clash against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11.

It has been a tough season for the veteran quarterback as he has thrown more interceptions (12) than touchdowns (11) after joining the team via a trade from the Seattle Seahawks in the offseason.
