After the Cleveland Browns fell to the New York Jets on Sunday, the call for Kevin Stefanski to hand Shedeur Sanders the starting quarterback role once again intensified. However, the coach appears to be sticking with Dillon Gabriel, who took over from Joe Flacco after Week 4.In an episode of “The Right Time with Bomani Jones” on Monday, Jones describes what the situation looks like for Kevin Stefanski with the quarterback dilemma. The analyst believes it's a lose-lose situation for the coach by starting Sanders, which obviously makes firing him a good option.“If you go to Shedeur, you have no other play to make. And I suppose that with a very young quarterback like Gabriel, you can go back to him because, like, how dare he?” Jones said. “What room does he have to say anything about it?“But it's still really absurd that they're at a place now where it's just like, ‘Hey man, we have nothing else that we can do.’ And so once you push the Shedeur button, at once you better hope he balls. But on the other hand, if he does, that's not a good look either. So basically, why don't they just go ahead and fire that man right now?”Kevin Stefanski once again shut down the idea of Shedeur Sanders claiming the starting role in his media availability on Monday, noting Dillon Gabriel is committed to improving. Gabriel completed 17 of 32 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns against the Jets on Sunday.Kevin Stefanski believes the Browns will continue pushing despite the setbackThe Cleveland Browns were subjected to intense criticism following the disappointing loss to the Jets on Sunday. Nonetheless, Kevin Stefanski made it clear in his postgame press conference that the team will continue to push to get better as the season progresses.“We’re going to win as a team and lose as a team. But some of the moments in that game are extremely disappointing in terms of how that game unfolded,” Stefanski said.“Obviously, you can’t give up two return touchdowns. That set us back and we didn’t do a good enough job in any facet. That’s the disappointing part for me and this football team. But we’re just going to keep swinging.”The Browns currently sit at the bottom of the AFC North with a 2-7 record, one of the worst in the NFL. The team boasts one of the best defenses in the league, allowing 264.9 yards per game, which is the NFL’s second best. However, the team’s offense hasn't been up to the task.
