Aaron Rodgers has enjoyed a strong start with the Pittsburgh Steelers since signing with the team in the offseason. On Wednesday, former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger discussed how the franchise has built the team around Rodgers, but compared it to when he was leading the team's offense in his final season in the league in 2021.

“I still think it’s funny, because, like, they’ve given Aaron DK (Metcalf), all these things, and I got a center that had never played center before in my last year,” Roethlisberger said on his "Footbahlin" podcast. “It’s amazing.”

The center Roethlisberger was referring to was Kendrick J. Green, who was in his rookie year that season. Nonetheless, when Green caught wind of Roethlisberger's comments, he responded to his former QB.

The Steelers took Green in the third round of the 2021 draft. He spent two years in Pittsburgh before being traded to the Houston Texans in August 2023.

This offseason, Green signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills. He is currently on the Bills' practice squad.

Roethlisberger played his entire 18-year NFL career with the Steelers. He won two Super Bowls and earned six Pro Bowl honors.
