Miles Teller is rubbing some salt in the wounds of New York Giant fans.
The G-men just fired Brian Daboll, and actor Miles Teller took the opportunity to take a few shots at the Philadelphia Eagles’ arch rivals. On Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights,” Teller said:
“Until you win that first one, right? It’s like, oh, Philly, you know they’re never gonna get over the hump. And now all of a sudden, you know you were back in another one. And then you know you win one and this and that and it’s like, can’t even hear you down there, Giants fans,” joked Teller (Time Stamp 58:30)
Teller is a lifelong Eagles fan, having been born in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.

“We’re not even focused on you,” Teller added about the Giants (Time stand 58:48).
While Teller grew up near Philadelphia, he went to New York University (NYU). The Giants axed Daboll on November 10 after a 2-8 start. Philly and New York have a longstanding rivalry, with the Giants capturing four Super Bowls. For several years now, the Eagles have been the superior team with Nick Sirianni guiding them to their second Super Bowl title last season.
Sirianni has won 55 regular-season games as the Eagles’ coach in just over four seasons in charge. Daboll racked up a mere 20 wins in his 3+ seasons on the Giants’ sidelines. Daboll was previously the Associated Press’ Coach of the Year in 2022, leading the Giants to a 9-7 record and a playoff appearance. Sirianni has never missed the playoffs since replacing Doug Pederson as the Eagles’ coach.
Daboll’s firing seems to put Jaxson Dart’s future in question, with the former coach having a lot of faith in the now-injured rookie quarterback.
Buffalo Bills coach dismisses Daboll links
With Daboll out as the Giants’ head coach, there was speculation that he may resurface in another part of New York.
Before getting the top coaching job with the Giants, Daboll served as offensive coordinator under Sean McDermott with the Buffalo Bills. Having worked with Josh Allen, rumours circulated that McDermott might want to add his former employee to the staff, with the Bills eyeing a Super Bowl. McDermott, though, shut down that speculation this week, telling reporters:
“It’s not under any type of consideration at this time.”
McDermott has expressed confidence in current offensive coordinator Joe Brady. The Bills are currently the second-best offense in terms of yards per game, averaging 384.4. They also have the best rushing attack with an average of 153.2 yards per game on the ground as a team.
Daboll’s Giants were middle of the pack offensively, ranked 14th with 332.9 yards per game.
