Mike Tomlin has been on the hot seat after the Pittsburgh Steelers' struggles this season. However, wide receiver DK Metcalf has not yet given up on his coach.During Wednesday's press conference, the two-time Pro Bowler opened up about his respect and admiration for Mike Tomlin. Despite this being Metcalf's first campaign under the Steelers' coach, he has faith in his talent to develop players amid the criticism and backlash for the team's on-field struggles."The fans have a right to be mad. But I'm not calling off anybody's job," Metcalf said. "That's a man that I hold in high regard with Coach T in how he carries himself and hpw he takes a lot of criticism. But he comes in here and he's still a great leader."So, I mean, I understand that frustration, but calling for somebody;s job is something I'm not up for. We'll be better, because they're used to winning. They're used to putting Lombardies in the trophy case. Like I keep saying, we just got hold up our end of the bargain."Mike Tomlin and the Steelers (6-6) are currently placed second in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens (6-6). Last Sunday, they suffered a disappointing 26-7 loss at home to the Buffalo Bills, resulting in a two-game losing streak. After the loss to the Bills, fans at Acrisure Stadium started "fire Tomlin" chants, expressing their frustration with the team's underwhelming campaign. He has yet to win a playoff game with the Steelers since losing to the New England Patriots in the 2016 AFC Championship game.Ex-Steelers coach shares his honest thoughts on Mike Tomlin's future with the franchiseOn Monday, on the "Dan Patrick Show", ex-Steelers coach Bill Cowher shared his thoughts on the "fire Tomlin' chants that erupted during the disappointing 26-7 loss at home."Like I said, they're very passionate fans," Cowher said. "You know, listen, where they are right now, they're 6-6. They've not played very good football these last seven games. So, it's a scenario. But the fact of the matter is we know, with fives games to go, they still have a chance to win their division."I think from Mike's standpoint, I know one thing, he's not going to let the outside noise influence, or how he's going to change his approach to this next game. He knows it's a lot at stake. They're not playing great football right now. He's gotta find a way to rally that group up and get them to believe that they still have a chance to win this division."Mike Tomlin and the Steelers next face the Ravens on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
