Shedeur Sanders' father Deion has interestingly reacted to his son being taken out of a crucial play late in the Cleveland Browns' 31-29 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

With just under a minute left, the rookie quarterback was taken off the field by coach Kevin Stefanski after throwing a touchdown to Harold Fannin Jr. For the ensuing two-point attempt, Quinshon Judkins instead took a shotgun snap from the wildcat formation.

However, he failed to find Gage Larvadain for a pitch, ultimately throwing an incompletion to double coverage to seal the game. Deion responded afterwards:

"Wow! But guess what GOD IS SO SO SO SO GOOD! We’re gonna praise him consistently with Passion & Purpose!"

Shedeur Sanders finished with 23 of 42 attempts completed for 362 yards and three touchdowns against an interception. He also had a rushing touchdown on eight carries.

The Titans, meanwhile, were led by Tony Pollard, who had a season-best 161 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. Cam Ward, meanwhile, completed 14 of 28 attempts for 117 yards and two touchdowns against an interception.

After the game, Stefanski rued his decision (via USA Today):

“Not going to get into all the specifics. But obviously, it did not go as we thought it would. ... That’s on me. I’m responsible for all of it.”

Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders said:

"I know we practiced something and we executed it in practice and just didn't seem to this day. So I would never go against what the call was or anything. ... Sometimes you got to run the ball, sometimes you got to kick a field goal. That's the most important thing."

Kevin Stefanski praises Shedeur Sanders after loss to Titans

The main talking point throughout Shedeur Sanders' tenure as a Brown has usually not been his on-field performance, but rather his rapport with his head coach.

Many analysts have taken to accusing Kevin Stefanski of "sabotaging" a player they say he did not want to have, but he had only good words about his quarterback on Sunday (via the aforementioned source):

"He fought throughout the game, which we knew he would. Obviously, with any young player, there's going to be ups and downs, and I thought there were some really, really, really good moments. He'll keep learning from some of the plays he wants back."

Kickoff for the Browns' next game at the Chicago Bears is at 1 pm ET on Fox.
