David Njoku has been in the spotlight for the Cleveland Browns ahead of the trade deadline. According to reports, the Browns are open to parting ways with the tight end, amid a poor start to the season.
According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the Denver Broncos are a team that could look to acquire Njoku to strengthen their offense.
Broncos coach Sean Payton has done a fine job with the team's offense this season. Denver added support for quarterback Bo Nix in the offseason and it appears the team wants to add another offensive weapon to the roster.
The Broncos might be attracted to the idea of having Njoku as that added weapon. Njoku, who has been with the Browns since 2017, is in the final year of his current contract.

The Brocons (6-2) are currently on a five-game win streak and are on course to make the playoffs. Having a roster with added quality will only help them make a deep run in the playoffs.
According to reports, the Broncos' AFC West rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders, are also open to landing Njoku before the trade deadline.
This season, Njoku has recorded 260 yards and two touchdowns on 27 receptions. His output has been affected by Cleveland's struggles in the quarterback role.
Browns reportedly open to "doing right by David Njoku" after adding two TEs to their roster

NFL insider Breer also suggested that the Browns want to "do right by Njoku" to trade him before Tuesday.
"The Browns aren’t aggressively working the phones to sell off pieces, but tight end David Njoku looks like a name to watch, if Cleveland gets a firm offer and Njoku signs off on the idea—the team would want to do right by him," Breer wrote in his column for Sports Illustrated on Friday.
The Browns recently acquired two tight ends this week. They claimed Brenden Bates off waivers and signed Caden Prieskorn to the practice squad.
The Browns took Njoku with the No. 29 pick in the 2017 NFL draft. He earned the only Pro Bowl honor of his career in 2023.
