Darius Slay discussed a possible Philadelphia reunion after turning down the Buffalo Bills. Slay played in Philadelphia for five years before joining Pittsburgh on a one-year contract. He was released by the Steelers on Tuesday, following which the Bills claimed him off waivers. However, Slay informed Buffalo he won't report.
Emmanuel Acho hosted Slay on the "Speakeasy" podcast on Thursday and asked the cornerback about whether he would have acted the same way if he had been asked to return to Philadelphia instead of Buffalo.
"Oh man, we don't know, man," Slay said. "I'm just telling you the fact, though. I had a real big impact with my kid. Me and my oldest son, we've been going through the wars together since peewee.
"Like I said this is his senior year of football. He just got doing basketball. And my youngest, he just got done. I just left his game. And it just felt good to be there. So, it would have been a hard time to think about it. But you know, Philly is my second home. I don't know how that would have hit if that would have hit."
