Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants summary
The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants put on a classic on Sunday night. A game that started sloppily turned into pure prime-time chaos at the end. Giants came out swinging and dominated the first quarter with over 12 minutes of possession.
However, penalties crushed their early momentum, and the Giants were limited to just two field goals, keeping Dallas within striking distance despite a less-than-convincing run defense and Trevon Diggs's bad day.
Russell Wilson silenced critics with a strong first half, helping the Giants build a 13-3 lead before Dak Prescott fired a laser to KaVontae Turpin, cutting the deficit to 13-10. Just before halftime, a long Brandon Aubrey kick attempt came up empty as Dallas trailed by three.
The second half was a roller coaster. Javonte Williams ripped off a 30-yard touchdown to give Dallas the lead, only for Cam Skattebo and Wan’Dale Robinson to answer for the Giants.
Miles Sanders’ first Cowboys touchdown briefly put Dallas ahead again, but a Wilson moon ball to Robinson gave Daboll's men a late lead. However, Aubrey’s clutch 64-yard field goal forced overtime, and after a wild series of possessions, Donovan Wilson’s interception of Russell Wilson set the stage for a Cowboys win.
Prescott’s 17-yard scramble put Aubrey in range, and his 46-yard kick sealed a 40-37 Cowboys win.
