Colin Cowherd absolves Aaron Rodgers of blame, flames into Mike Tomlin for Steelers' dysfunction

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers have cooled off after a hot start to the 2025 season. The Steelers have lost three of their last four games and are barely holding on to their advantage in the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens breathing down their necks.

NFL analyst Colin Cowherd has taken note of the team's struggles, and he has absolved Aaron Rodgers of blame while criticising Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

While speaking on 'The Herd, ' Cowherd said,

"Why are you blaming Aaron? Pittsburgh's offense has been unwatchable for like 7 years, he just stepped into their quicksand."

Cowherd believes that it's mightily uncharitable to dump the blame on Rodgers. The Steelers have gotten progressively worse over time, and it currently falls on Mike Tomlin's shoulders.

The Steelers entered this season with high expectations after signing Rodgers via free agency, trading for DK Metcalf, and using the offseason to acquire talent across the roster. However, the team is currently one of the most out-of-form sides in football, and is at significant risk of completely falling off in the second half of the campaign.

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers face off against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11

Aaron Rodgers and Co. are fresh off a Week 10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The game wasn't close, and the Steelers' offensive struggles made it a night to forget at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Next up for the Steelers is a home game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Packers will look to avenge their Week 7 loss to the Joe Flacco-led Bengals. That game ended in a 33-31 score in favor of the Bengals.

The Steelers will need to find a way to contain Joe Flacco in Week 11. Flacco is no stranger to battles against Coach Tomlin, and their duel would be a subplot to observe in the upcoming game.
