The Cincinnati Bengals saw a furious comeback from 14 points down fail brutally on Sunday. And Chase Brown was a very angry witness, to the point of swearing twice. With 4:53 minutes left against the Chicago Bears, the team looked to be done for, as they trailed 41-27. However, they mounted a furious comeback that involved a two-point conversion after a touchdown and an onside kick recovery. They then took the lead with only 54 seconds left after Joe Flacco found Andrei Iosivas for a touchdown. However, the happiness was not to last, as on the next drive, rookie tight end Colston Loveland bounced off multiple defenders to score the decisive touchdown.Flacco was then intercepted to seal the loss - the Bengals' sixth in nine. Afterwards, Brown condemned the defense for collapsing while addressing the media in the locker room:"What the (expletive)?. We just gotta play complementary football. We put the ball in the endzone, and go up a point at the end, finish the (expletive) game. End it. That's it. That's what we need to do. Just end the (expletive) game."He would not be alone, however. Yanni Tragellis, reporter for CBS- and CW-affiliated WKRC-TV, managed to catch wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase saying to himself:“One f***ing stop!”Notably, a good contingent of the defense did not speak to the media after the game, with some even being reported laughing. One of those who did speak was linebacker Barrett Carter, who said:“If you can’t stop the run in this league, you’re not going to win. We’re going to fix it internally. We have to rely on each other and trust each other. There’s no pointing fingers.”Joe Flacco, Ja'Marr Chase refuse to blame Bengals' defense for last-minute collapse against BearsMeanwhile, Joe Flacco refused to overburden the Bengals' defense:“You need to focus on yourself and do your job. I get it, it can be emotional. I go to those guys and have good conversations about going to work and taking pride in what you do. If you do that, you don’t have time to get mad at people you shouldn’t get mad at.”Ja'Marr Chase also eventually regained his composure and added:“I’m just trying to stay positive. I’m going to stay in my lane. I don’t want no defensive player coming to me about what I’m doing.”It does not get any easier for them, as they visit the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday.
