Cam Skattebo’s mom Becky defends Giant RB after backlash over WWE appearance during ankle injury rehab

New York Giants rookie Cam Skattebo’s mom, Becky, defended the NFL rookie for his appearance at the WWE. The American NFL star had injured his leg during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 26, underwent surgery and has been in rehabilitation since.

However, while recovering from the injury, Skattebo appeared on WWE Monday Night Raw and was involved in a scripted brawl. The NFL star received criticism for his appearance online, and on Friday, his mom, Becky, came to his defense with a post on X.

"It's a fun side quest (unfortunately) watching everyone really get to know who Cam is as he has fun streaming since he's unable to train hard and play. He is a kind respectful human who's CAPABLE of the "violence" you see on the field but only uses it when necessary. I guess I should of started him streaming at 6 years old yelling back and forth with his brother for "screen peeking" y'all really would of got a kick out of that," she wrote.

Cam Skattebo shared an update on his injury earlier this week. While away from the field, he connected with his fans on Twitch during a World of Warcraft stream. He showed the fans his ankle and said that he is "getting better every day."

“Ankle’s good," Skattebo said. "Update, cat. I can even move my toes and (expletive). I’m getting better every day. Every day, chat. It’s getting better. I can move my toes, chat."

Previously, Cam Skattebo’s girlfriend, Chloe Rodrigues, also shared an update on the NFL star’s injury. She shared a picture of him on Instagram helping her with the Christmas decorations.

Following the criticism online, Cam Skattebo came forward to defend himself on social media. He shared a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

"Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on," Skattebo wrote. "I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say."

While Cam Skattebo is recovering, his girlfriend, Chloe Rodrigues, surprised fans with her rare appearance at an NFL game. She attended the Week 11 game to cheer the Giants in a custom-made outfit, with her boyfriend’s jersey number printed on it.
