Cam Skattebo's girlfriend, Chloe Rodriguez, sent love for the NFL rookie after his surgery. The New York Giants running back suffered an injury during a 38-20 loss at the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
In the second quarter, he severely injured his right ankle and was carted off the field. He was hospitalized in Philadelphia, where he underwent surgery.
Cam Skattebo shared an update on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday. He penned a long message and updated fans that the surgery "went well."
He expressed gratitude to his loved ones for their support during the difficult time:

"Thank you everyone for the support!! Surgery went well. I just want to thank the city of Philly for taking the best care of me. Every moment I spent in the hospital with family and friends I felt loved and supported in every way. Thank you to the doctors, surgeons, and staff that did their best work on me. Skattebo’s right foot was twisted while he was trying to catch a pass. Greg Van Roten quickly called for help, and he was moved off the field.
Giants QB Jaxson Dart reacts to the severe injury of Cam Skattebo
After the game on Sunday against the Eagles, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart talked up about the injury to Cam Skattebo.
"Yeah, I was devastated," Dart said. "It's my boy, man. So, seeing him go down and obviously reacting to what happened, that sucks. It's the worst part of this game."
Giants coach Brian Daboll also discussed the injury.
"Yeah, feel absolutely terrible for the young man," Daboll said. "Obviously, saw it looked bad. I know you feel for anybody on your team that goes down and has a really bad injury and ... I know the players feel the same way about (Skattebo)."
In his rookie season, Skattebo has played eight games and recorded 410 yards and five touchdowns rushing.
The Giants (2-6) have had a tough time on the field this season, although they had previously defeated the Eagles 34-17 in Week 6.
