Emmanuel Acho does not believe Bryce Young has reached the level of a franchise quarterback. He said that the Carolina Panthers signal-caller's uneven production makes it impossible to evaluate him.

Acho is a former NFL linebacker and current analyst on FS1’s "Speakeasy." He pointed to Young’s inability to maintain momentum from week to week.

"Let's be real about Bryce Young," Acho said on Tuesday (1:20). "This season, we're about 12 weeks in and he hasn't had back-to-back 200 passing yard games in the season. How can I call you a franchise quarterback if you haven't had back-to-back games with 200 yards? The problem with Bryce Young is too jackal and hide."

"I think last week he almost set, if he didn't set a Carolina passing record with over 400 yards and then this week after throwing for 446 yards last week, you throw for 169 yards this week and then the week before the 440 yard passing game, it's 124 yards."

Acho also noted Young's inconsistency.

"Like, he's too inconsistent to be a franchise quarterback," Acho said. "Has a high ceiling. We've seen that ceiling. The end of last season, he cooked, but I'm seeing way too many inconsistencies."

His remarks came after Carolina’s 20-9 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday at Levi’s Stadium. Young finished with 169 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

LeSean McCoy, who joined Emmanuel Acho on the FS1 panel, echoed the concern about Bryce Young.

"Yeah, I hate that you're right," McCoy said on Tuesday, via "Speakeasy."
"He's not consistent enough to put him on that level of a franchise. A franchise quarterback is a guy that's going to make $200-300 million and I don't think he's that. If the defense isn't doing well, if the running game isn't doing well, I can count on you. He don't do none of that."

McCoy stressed on Young’s turnovers on Monday. He particularly pointed to an interception from the 1-yard line and another deep in San Francisco territory during Carolina’s late comeback attempt.

Young, who addressed reporters after the game, expressed frustration with the outcome and said the responsibility for solving the unit’s issues rests on his shoulders. The Panthers (6-6) are still in position within the NFC South race.
