Shedeur Sanders is set to make his third NFL start on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. The Cleveland Browns' rookie quarterback is looking to improve his play and get better on the offense in Week 14 after struggling against the San Francisco 49ers last week.Sanders noted his struggles in trusting what he's seeing during plays in his press conference on Wednesday, but he's working to address the issue. Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees commented on how vocal the rookie has been in learning the details of the team's playbook.“He's done a nice job throughout the week of communicating and seeing things,” Rees said. “‘Hey, I need another rep of this, cuz I wanna see it again.’ All those points are really positive and moving in the right direction.”Rees noted that the current experience of Shedeur Sanders around the team's plays is normal for a rookie quarterback. He believes he's going to get better and more familiar with the scenario around each play, helping him build a solid trust in his teammates.“There's certainly some opportunities he probably wants back,” Rees said. “And that's gonna happen with a young player. You're seeing things, and things are moving quicker than you're used to.“Every rep he gets, every opportunity he gets, he's gonna get more and more comfortable. There's always gonna be plays you want back. I think we had some things there that you felt like you had some opportunities to hit, and those are coachable moments for a young quarterback.”Tommy Rees describes areas where Shedeur Sanders has progressed in his gameIn his media availability on Thursday, the first question Tommy Rees had to answer was about the progression of Shedeur Sanders on the team's offense. The offensive coordinator outlined where he thinks the quarterback made some steps forward against the 49ers.“Took care of the football there throughout the game, which is a positive, something that with young players you stress,” Rees said. “I thought operationally it was cleaner. As he gets more comfortable, more reps, more opportunities in and out of the huddle, communicating at the line of scrimmage.“Felt like we had more time at the line of scrimmage to get some things called up front. So I think ownership of the system, ownership of what we're asking him to do, making good decisions, I thought there was some progression there for sure.”In his three appearances for the Browns, Shedeur Sanders has thrown for 405 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions. The Week 14 game against the Titans is an opportunity for him to lock the starting role amid Deshaun Watson’s return to practice.
