"I just have a feeling that they're going to analyze the whole thing and decide they want to move forward with him," Cabot said on Monday, via "The Dawgs - A Cleveland Browns Podcast." "I can't say for sure yet, but it sort of has that vibe. Feels like it's almost kind of trending in that direction."

Cabot's comments came one day after Sanders threw three interceptions in the 31-3 loss to the Bears. He completed 18 of 35 passes for 177 yards at Soldier Field.

ESPN draft expert Todd McShay believes Cleveland makes the most sense to trade up to the top spot. He noted that the Browns have the resources and need to make a move for a franchise quarterback.

"I personally think the most reasonable (team to trade up) given these circumstances would be Cleveland going from (No. 4) to (No. 1)," McShay said on Thursday, via "The McShay Show."

McShay also questioned whether Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry and coach Kevin Stefanski will keep their jobs.

"I've seen others say, 'Let's give them time,'" McShay said. "I just don't see it, especially if it's a current regime, although I would say the chances of both the general manager, Andrew Berry, and Kevin Stefanski, the head coach, being back are probably slim."

The Browns own two first-round picks in the 2026 draft. They have their selection plus one acquired from Jacksonville, giving them flexibility to move up or take multiple impact players.
