On Monday, the legendary former Green Bay Packers quarterback premiered 4th and Favre alongside actor David Kano. One of the topics they discussed in this pilot episode was the death of former New York Jets center Nick Mangold the day before.

Favre, who played with the multiple-time Pro Bowler in 2008, admitted that hearing the news greatly affected him:

"Honestly, I felt like I got kicked in the stomach by the the most ferocious horse out there. It just hit me like a ton of bricks. ...Even though I was only with the Jets for a year, I left a lot of friends behind, and Nick would be one of them. Just a super guy, great family guy, four kids, wonderful wife."

He continued:

"41 is so young. I had seen where he made a public plea for a kidney. ...I was optimistic, because I'd read that several days ago, so I was optimistic that someone would come forward with a match, and he would be fine. But that's not the case... Just a tragic, tragic bit of news today."

Brett Favre discusses current NFL standings

In the same episode, Brett Favre shared his thoughts on the current NFL season. He began with the NFC (starts at 16:36):

"I think there's four teams that really stand out to me... the Buccaneers, the Packers, Detroit, and Philadelphia. Now you could easily say the Rams, maybe the 49ers. The Cowboys (are) not out of it, surprisingly. But to me, one of those four will represent the NFC (at Super Bowl LX)."

The AFC, meanwhile, had "a little more parity" to him:

"Obviously, Kansas City is going to be there. We assumed Buffalo will be there, but New England has actually passed them. Baltimore doesn't look like they're going to do it this year, but Pittsburgh looks good. The Chargers give you flashes of what they can do, but I think Denver could sneak in there as well."
