Bo Nix revealed that he spent the majority of this offseason trying to develop into a dual-threat quarterback on the field. On Friday, the Denver Broncos quarterback appeared on the "Pat McAfee" show.Nix highlighted how he's trying to be as "athletic" as he can this season. He then gave the example of Josh Allen as a successful dual-threat quarterback in the league, hinting at it being a catalyst for his own physical transformation."I'm 6'2", 215 lbs. So I feel like there's so many of us in the league that are around 6'2", 6'3", 210 lbs to 225-230 lbs, I feel like we all fall into that category and I'm right there in the middle," Nix said. "I focus this offseason on maximizing, and it sounds crazy, but maximizing on how athletic I think can be and not neglecting that. And being able to run as fast as I possibly can, can be able to move as quick as I can. I mean the size is always going to be there. ... I think the strength is there."Because everybody in the league is athletic. If you can move away from people. If you can run, if you can try to avoid guys and run for first downs, I think that's where defenses, you know, they can't stand it. A lot of us going into the league. ... I think the ability to escape is what sets guys apart. You know, you've seen Patrick do it forever now."Josh (Allen) does it at a high level. Obviously Josh is, you know, different size than all of us. But there is still an element of moving and getting away from the blitz and the pressure and being able to extend plays that I think just gives defenses a hard time."This season, Bo Nix has recorded 2,421 yards and 18 touchdowns passing while rushing for 213 yards and three touchdowns. The Broncos currently sit on top of the AFC West with a 9-2 record and an eight-game winning streak.Broncos DC Vance Joseph has high praise for Bo NixVance Joseph highlighted how the Broncos defense has a lot of faith and confidence in Bo Nix on the field. On Wednesday's episode of "The Schrager Hour", he had high praise for the quarterback's ability to turn games in their favor. Bo Nix has helped the Broncos to eight fourth-quarter comeback victories since taking over as the QB1 in 2024."The team environment, the locker room, on the sideline, no one ever panics," Joseph said. "No one complains. ... It's about just winning that football game. And we know on defense, if we just keep playing, he (Nix) is gonna make a play. We watch is every day in practice."I mean, this kid is special, special-as a person, as a player. His talent is off the charts, so we trust that he's going to make a play."The Broncos are ranked No.3 in terms of total defense this season, behind the Browns and the Texans. They have a bye in Week 12, following which they face the Commanders on Nov.30 at 8:20 p.m. ET.
