Former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert did not mince his words when criticizing Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills' struggles against the Houston Texans on Thursday. In a tweet he shared on X, the ex-Packers QB labeled the 2024 NFL MVP and his team as "frauds.""Bills are indeed frauds," Benkert tweeted. The Bills took an early lead in the first quarter after RB James Cook scored a 45-yard rushing touchdown. However, Ka'imi Fairbairn's 24-yard field goal minimized the deficit to 6-3 for the Texans. In the second quarter, Bills placekicker Matt Prater scored a 44-yard field goal of his own. Texans quarterback Davis Mills scored two touchdowns, helping his team secure a 20-16 lead before halftime. The second half began with Ka'imi Fairbairn scoring another 26-yard field goal in the third quarter. After a lack of an offensive display by the Bills, Matt Prater scored a 38-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to minimize the deficit 23-19 with just five minutes left on the clock. However, it was not enough for his team to make a comeback and secure the win.The Bills ended the night with a disappointing 23-19 loss. Josh Allen completed 24 of 34 passes for 253 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. It was an underwhelming showcase for the quarterback compared to last week, when he completed 19 of 30 passes for 317 yards and six total touchdowns. Before Thursday's loss, Josh Allen recorded 2,456 yards and 18 TDs passing while rushing for 351 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.Emmanuel Acho gets real on the Bills' dependency on Josh AllenOn Thursday on the "Speakeasy" podcast, ex-NFL linebacker turned analyst Emmanuel Acho shared his brutally honest assessment of the Bills after the loss to the Texans. He said that the team is too dependent on Allen to make big plays and lead them to victory in every game."The Buffalo Bills are asking Josh Allen to extend every single pass play long enough for his wide receivers to beat press coverage," Acho said. "His wide receivers can't beat any form of press coverage. As a result, Josh Allen gets scrambled left, scrambled right trying to buy time."You're just asking him to do entirely too much. ... The Buffalo Bills do not have a tier 1 wide receiver. And they don't have a great wide receiver. They don't anybody that can beat press. ... To me, how can you expect Allen to actually take this team where it needs to go when he doesn't have legitimate help?"The Bills are 7-4 following Thursday's loss to the Texans. They are next scheduled to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 4:25 p.m. ET.
