Mike Tomlin received backlash from fans following the Pittsburgh Steelers' 26-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers and Co. have lost three of their last four games and gave away the AFC North lead to the Baltimore Ravens.

"Fire Tomlin" chants erupted from fans as Buffalo dismantled Pittsburgh in its backyard. Former Steelers coach Bill Cowher shared his take on Tomlin's mentality.

"I think from Mike’s standpoint, I know one thing, he’s not gonna let the outside noise influence or how he’s gonna change his approach to this next game," Cowher said on Monday, via Blitzburgh.

"He knows it’s a lot at stake. They’re not playing great football right now. He’s gotta find a way to rally that group and get them to believe that they still have a chance to win this division.”

The Bills overwhelmed the Steelers, setting a franchise record with 249 rushing yards. James Cook recorded a career-high 32 carries for 144 yards. Pittsburgh failed to put pressure on Allen, while Rodgers completed just 10 of 21 passes for 117 yards.

The road ahead is not easy for Tomlin's team. The Steelers are scheduled to face the Ravens twice and the Detroit Lions once in the final stretch. Their other two remaining games are against the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns.

Mike Tomlin on "Fire Tomlin" chants and loss to Bills

Mike Tomlin offered no excuses following his team's 26-7 loss to the Bills on Sunday. The Pittsburgh Steelers coach admitted that the performance was nowhere close to the standards the franchise has set for itself.

“Not a lot needs to be said," Tomlin told reporters after the game. "That’s an awful performance by us. We didn’t do a lot well tonight, obviously. Didn’t play complementary football. We’ve got to absorb that result.”

Despite Josh Allen missing starting tackles Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown, the Bills' backup offensive line allowed just one quarterback hit and zero sacks combined.

Tomlin praised Buffalo's offensive unit. He also pointed to Pittsburgh's inability to force Buffalo into passing-only scenarios.

Tomlin was asked about the "Fire Tomlin" chants throughout the game.

“I share their frustration tonight," Tomlin said. "We didn’t do enough. That’s just the reality of it.”

The Steelers will be on the road to face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The winner will take the lead in the AFC North.
