Former NFL coach Bill Belichick's first year with North Carolina has been underwhelming. However, the former New England Patriots coach is reportedly being pursued by two NFL teams.

According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, the six-time Super Bowl-winning coach is interested in talking to "at least two NFL teams." Anderson reported on Tuesday that a third team could enter the conversation to land the veteran coach.

"I'm told "at least two NFL teams" are still* expected to have interest in talking to Bill Belichick, behind-the-scenes* at the very least, about head coach jobs this Carousel season, per a league source.

"A third team could also enter the mix," with desires to talk, particularly if one specific personnel change is made under ownership, the source added."

After his stellar coaching tenure with the Patriots, Belichick made a surprising move to college football last year after he was named the Tar Heels' coach in December.

His first year in CFB has been disastrous as the Tar Heels are 4-7 after a 32-25 loss to Duke on Saturday.

While Bill Belichick has been reportedly linked with a shock return to the NFL, the 73-year-old revealed what he has learnt in his first year of college football action with the Tar Heels.

"I try to be as honest as I can about our program," Belichick said. "We want student-athletes to come here who want to work hard every single day and strive to be their best to help the team be successful, so I would not do anything differently than we have in the past."

Although Belichick has had a rough start to his CFB tenure, a few NFL teams could use the veteran tactician's expertise. Belichick's former team, the Cleveland Browns, could make a gamble on the veteran coach amid their disastrous 3-8 season.

The New York Giants, who fired coach Brian Daboll earlier this month, could also be one of the teams monitoring Belichick's situation with North Carolina.
