Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair made a controversial play during Houston's 27-19 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in a Monday night showdown.

In the final moments of the first quarter, he chased down quarterback Sam Darnold near the sideline. As he tackled Darnold near the boundary, Azeez Al-Shair did not let go. Instead, he continued to tackle him as the players ended up out of bounds.

The officials penalized the Texans 15 yards for unnecessary roughness, giving Seattle a first down at the Houston 11-yard line instead of facing fourth down and a possible field-goal try from the Houston 22. The Seahawks scored a touchdown on the ensuing play.

However, the penalty was not enough to satisfy the rage NFL fans had over Al-Shaair's actions. Some demanded stricter actions by the league and wanted the linebacker banned from professional football.

"Ban him from the league," one fan commented.

Sam Darnold found wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba for an 11-yard touchdown pass for a 14-0 lead on the final play of the first quarter. At halftime, the Texans managed to minimize the deficit to 14-6 thanks to two field goals by Ka'imi Fairbairn.

This is not the first time that Shaair has found himself in trouble for unsportsmanlike conduct. In Week 4, he hit Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward on the face. He fell to the ground while dangerously snapping his head. The Texans linebacker was fined $17,389 by the league.

Sports broadcaster Andrew Siciliano calls out Azeez Al-Shaair's unsportsmanlike conduct against the Seattle Seahawks

After Azeez Al-Shaair and the Texans were penalized for unnecessary roughness on Sam Darnold, sports broadcaster Andrew Siciliano tweeted that the Texans linebacker may face the consequences of his actions after the game and might receive another fine by the league.

"Azeez Al-Shaair was fined a few weeks ago for a hit on Cam Ward. He has a history. There may be another letter for that one on Sam Darnold," Siciliano tweeted.

Last year, Shaair was suspended for three games by the league after his illegal tackle on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Will the NFL decide to impose another suspension on him following his unsportsmanlike conduct in Week 7?
