Baker Mayfield's wife Emily takes jab at NFL fining star QB $14,491 for 'violent gesture' during Bucs vs Cardinals game

On Saturday, the NFL handed out its weekly fines and quarterback Baker Mayfield was fined for his actions during the Week 13 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Arizona Cardinals 20-17 and during the game, Mayfield celebrated Bucky Irving's touchdown.

Irving and Mayfield celebrated by doing a handshake in the end zone, which the NFL considered 'violent.' The NFL fined Mayfield $14,491 since it wasn't his first offense this season. Irving was fined $6,349 for his first offense. Emily Mayfield took issue with the NFL's decision and that they called the handshake 'violent.'

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't see Baker Mayfield and Bucky Irving's handshake celebration as violent. During the game the team posted a video and called it the best in the league.

"The best handshake in football," the Buccaneers posted.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers ended a three-game losing streak with the win over the Arizona Cardinals at home. The Bucs will host the New Orleans Saints in Week 14 in hopes of extending their NFC South lead over the Carolina Panthers.

Baker Mayfield shared special moment with daughter Kova ahead of Week 13 win

Before each game, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield meets with his wife, Emily, and daughter, Kova. Ahead of the Week 13 home game at Raymond James Stadium, Mayfield walked over to the sidelines after pregame warmups.

He picked up his one-year-old daughter and shared a few moments with her before the game kicked off. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers shared a video of the heartfelt father-daughter moment on Instagram, calling the quarterback "Daddy Baker."

"The coolest dad ever 🥹" the Buccaneers captioned the Instagram post.

Kova Mayfield wore her dad's No. 6 Buccaneers throwback jersey with a matching bow in her hair. The Mayfield's welcomed their daughter, Kova, in April 2024. In November, the couple announced that they are expecting their second child, a son, in April 2026.
