New York Giants defensive end Abdul Carter was benched for the first two drives of his team's 33-15 loss to the New England Patriots on Monday night. Although it was initially reported that Carter was benched for disciplinary reasons, a fake report claimed the reason was for watching porn in a team meeting.
A parody account on X named "Wesley Steinberg" spread the rumor, prompting Carter to respond in a tweet that he later deleted.
"Stop slandering my name real shit! & if you believe that bs you stupid!" Carter tweeted later on Monday before deleting his post.

Carter entered the game against the Patriots on New York's first defensive series in the second quarter. He finished with four tackles (two solo) and a sack after playing in 45 of New York's 65 snaps.
Although Carter's performances are still solid, there are some off-field concerns about the rookie after he was benched for the second time in three games due to disciplinary reasons.
After the game, Carter declined to provide details on what led to his benching, saying, "s--t happens" and he "ain't going to get into detail." The rookie DE also said he took responsibility for letting his team down.
