NFL analyst calls out 4x NFL MVP for ruining Steelers culture by repeating earlier mistakes

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers have lost ground in the playoff race following back-to-back defeats. Their latest setback was a 26-7 home loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

On "UnSportsmanlike Radio" on Monday, former NFL defensive end Chris Canty said the Steelers' experiment with Rodgers is backfiring. He also claimed the veteran quarterback is ruining the franchise's culture.

"Aaron Rodgers created a circus-like atmosphere at the end in Green Bay. He did the same with the New York Jets, and it feels like it's trending in that direction with the Pittsburgh Steelers," Canty said. "This is a franchise that we always lauded for being buttoned up. Mike Tomlin is a coach that we've always given the benefit of the doubt, but I'm past that point with this version of the Steelers.

"Yesterday was abhorrent. I can't remember the last time the Steelers got manhandled in Pittsburgh... They got beat up from pillar to post and Aaron Rodgers is the face of that... They faded late last year. They seem like they're fading this year, but it's going to be faster because you have a quarterback that's a week away from turning 42, and he's not going to be good enough in order to right the ship and get things back on track."

Against the Bills, Rodgers completed 10 of 21 passes for 117 yards and no touchdowns. He was replaced by Mason Rudolph in the third quarter after Joey Bosa sacked him, resulting in a bloody nose.

In the post-game press conference, the veteran quarterback did not hesitate in calling out the offense, including tight end Jonnu Smith. Rodgers failed to connect with Smith for a touchdown in the fourth quarter because the tight end ran the wrong route, according to the quarterback.

The four-time NFL MVP said he and Smith were not "on the same page".

"I checked to an in-breaker, and he ran an out-breaker. Jonnu is a true professional, so I’m sure he’s sick about that. I threw a ball I thought was gonna get hit by the wind, and it was 4 yards over Roman (Wilson). I’ve gotta make that throw. We have our meetings every week, we have other opportunities outside the facility and looking forward to seeing all the boys there.”

The Steelers (6-6) face the Baltimore Ravens (6-6) on Sunday in a clash that could have a significant bearing on the AFC North standings.
