Philadelphia’s offense has sputtered for long stretches this season. Despite the roster’s talent, the Eagles rank near the bottom of the league in several key production categories, including passing efficiency and third-down conversion rate.

A.J. Brown's individual numbers also have a noticeable downturn. Through nine appearances, he has totaled 38 receptions, 457 yards and three touchdowns.

Philadelphia’s ground game has slowed considerably from last year’s attack, which led the NFC. The current output places the unit near the middle of the league charts.

Asked whether recent reports of irritation with quarterback Jalen Hurts inside the building had reached him, Brown shut the line of questioning down.

“Ask me about Dallas. Thank you,” Brown said.

The quarterback has been at the center of public scrutiny after a stretch of modest production through the air, and unnamed voices have been cited in stories describing internal fatigue with the offensive stagnation.

The Eagles’ success in scoring inside the 20-yard line and limiting turnovers has helped preserve their position at the top of the conference. Philadelphia leads the league in red-zone efficiency and has committed the fewest turnovers of any team this season.

Head coach Nick Sirianni, now in his fifth year, is working through another transition at offensive coordinator. Kevin Patullo, in his first season calling plays, has faced pressure as stars like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith search for rhythm.

Their opponent, meanwhile, carries its own emotional storyline into Sunday’s meeting. Dallas rolled to a 33-16 win over Las Vegas on Monday in its first game since the death of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland.

Quarterback Dak Prescott threw four touchdowns in that victory, connecting repeatedly with George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb during a dominant outing. Even so, the Cowboys enter the week still searching for a signature win over a winning opponent.
