The Eagles had an excellent first half, building a 21-0 lead. However, their offense didn’t score again. They committed 14 penalties for 96 yards and killed momentum on key drives. Turnovers in the fourth quarter proved costly. Saquon Barkley fumbled, and punt returner Xavier Gipson coughed up the ball deep in Eagles territory.

Their defense also broke under pressure. Dak Prescott made big plays, including a long pass to George Pickens and a scrambling touchdown to tie the game.

Hurts took a 13-yard sack on third-and-2 in the final two minutes, handing Dallas the ball back. Prescott drove the team into field-goal range, which set up the 42-yard game-winning field goal by Brandon Aubrey.

Jalen Hurts discusses the Eagles's second-half collapse vs. the Cowboys

Jalen Hurts acknowledged how badly the team fell apart in the second half versus the Cowboys. When asked if the stalled run game was the issue, Hurts admitted that lack of discipline caused the mistakes.

"It’s not a matter of the run game," Hurts told reporters.
"It’s a matter of discipline and focus in what we do. It’s been a lot of instances where it’s shown up and gotten us, but we’ve been able to figure it out and will ourselves to a win, and tonight we didn't. We played a hell of a first half, and we didn’t play not even close enough to our standard in the second half.”

He also discussed the mistakes in the postgame conference.

“You look inward first,” Hurts said. “Looking at the things we can control from a penalty standpoint, an execution standpoint, those are all things we control. In the end, we had an opportunity to win the game and we didn’t. We’ve got to own this one, let it light a fire in us as a team and stay together and move forward.”

Hurts finished with 289 passing yards, 33 rushing yards and three total touchdowns. However, his late third-down sack gave Dallas the final possession it needed for the winning kick. The run game struggled throughout, recording just 63 yards.
