Jason Kelce spoke openly on Wednesday about how hard his wife, Kylie Kelce’s, pregnancy loss in 2018 was for them. He talked about it while accepting an award at the March of Dimes Sports Luncheon in New York, where Kylie introduced him.
The former Eagles center called the loss “absolutely devastating” and said it was especially difficult because it happened during the NFL season.
“I remember going out to my truck in the middle of practice and meetings, overcome with grief and emotion,” Kelce said.
He shared that teammates, coaches and staff helped him realize “how prevalent it actually was.” Kelce added that miscarriages are often something “that I think, a lot of times, often don’t get said and spoken about.”

The couple learned about the loss on Nov. 5, 2018, Jason’s birthday, after Kylie had a positive pregnancy test in August.
She spoke about her miscarriage in a TikTok posted on July 19, 2024.
“I had a miscarriage before Wyatt,” Kylie said. “I went in for my 13 week ultrasound, there was no heartbeat, and I had to have a D and E. So, I do not take getting pregnant or trying to get pregnant lightly.”
Dilation and evacuation is a surgical abortion procedure most commonly performed in the second trimester. It involves dilating the cervix and removing pregnancy tissue from the uterus using suction, forceps and curettage.
Jason and Kylie went on to have four daughters: Wyatt Elizabeth, Elliotte Ray, Bennett Llewellyn and Finnley “Finn” Anne.
The couple married in April 2018 after meeting on Tinder.

Jason Kelce's wife Kylie Kelce questions herself about motherhood
Kylie Kelce said she still wonders if being a mom came naturally to her, as she and Jason Kelce settle in with their fourth daughter. She admitted on the June 24 episode of the "House of Maher" podcast that she does not always feel like she has the “mom gene.”
Kelce added how she once thought motherhood would be easy for her. People called her “mom” in college and she always pictured herself having four kids.
However, now that she has young children at home, she said it can be overwhelming.
“I would say before motherhood, I was like, ‘Give me all the babies,’" Kelce said. "Now that I’m in motherhood, I’m like, ‘Am I doing this right?’ every day.”
Kylie also said that she does not see herself as someone with all the answers.
On the May 29 episode of her "Not Gonna Lie" podcast, she shared that she still searches the internet when she is unsure about things.
