Mark Sanchez shared a holiday message on Instagram on Friday. It was one of the first times he spoke publicly since his arrest two months earlier.He posted photos of his wife, actress Perry Mattfeld, and their twin daughters, who were born in March. He also wrote about how thankful he feels for his family.“This time of year always makes me look around and appreciate what matters, but this one hits different. I’m just grateful to wake up, to be home, and to be able to wrap my arms around my wife and kids. Thank you to the people who kept me standing and gave my family opportunities to share moments like these. Police say the incident happened on Oct. 4 near the Westin Hotel loading dock in Indianapolis.A court affidavit says Sanchez walked up to a 69-year-old truck driver who was picking up used cooking oil and told him he couldn’t park there. Investigators say Sanchez looked impaired, grabbed the man and pushed him into a wall.The driver told police he was scared for his safety. He used pepper spray to stop Sanchez, and when that did not work, he stabbed Sanchez in self-defense, according to the affidavit. Sadly, none of this is surprising to me.”Her comments came nine days after Sanchez was hospitalized and charged following the violent confrontation in Indianapolis.Sanchez is a former NFL quarterback. He led the New York Jets to back‑to‑back AFC championship appearances in 2009 and 2010.
