It's the final week of fantasy football for the unfortunate teams in many leagues. With the regular season winding down as fast as the temperature in much of the country, the running back blitz is here. Unfortunately, the search for running backs over the past three months has significantly depleted the waiver wire. However, there are still some deep options out there.
Here's a look at some of the top waiver wire additions you should consider this week.

#4 - Jaleel McLaughlin, Denver Broncos (1.6% rostered)
Jaleel McLaughlin isn't stealing the backfield from RJ Harvey, but he did see half a dozen carries against the Washington Commanders in prime time. As such, McLaughlin is a decent option to stash and play in desperate situations. The back scored a touchdown in his outing before the Week 13 bye, so he has some fantasy football upside from that as well.
#3 - Ray Davis, Pittsburgh Steelers (5.1% rostered)
After going quiet for most of the season, Ray Davis popped onto the box score en force against the Pittsburgh Steelers, receiving nine carries. Davis has received that number of carries in previous weeks before sudden drop-offs, but desperate fantasy football managers could end up with backs with fewer carries.
With the Cincinnati Bengals on tap in Week 14, one carry could be all it takes to have a decent day for Davis.
#2 - Malik Davis, Dallas Cowboys (0.2% rostered)
The Dallas Cowboys found a diamond in the rough with Javonte Williams, but fantasy football managers need to know the name of Malik Davis. Davis turned three carries into 47 yards and a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs. As such, he could be on the uptick if the Cowboys test him out a bit more in future weeks.
#1 - Michael Carter, Arizona Cardinals (10% rostered)
Michael Carter finds himself as one of several running backs cycling through the conveyor belt that is the Arizona Cardinals backfield. Carter received ten total touches against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which is more than most fantasy football managers can realistically hope for from a running back on the waiver wire at this time of year.
According to Arizona's official injury report, Trey Benson had the dreaded LP/DNP/DNP regimen of work, which indicates that he isn't close to returning. As such, Carter will continue to see at least some work on a game-by-game basis, depending on the status of Emari Demercado, who is working through an ankle injury that kept him out of practice.
