Driving the #1K midget car, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson started from the 11th position and ended up finishing 15th, an unfortunate result after leading the majority of the race at the 1/4-mile dirt track of Placerville Speedway.

HMS star, who dominated the Hangtown 100, was leading the race until five laps to go, where Larson flipped after contact with Daison Pursley. This wreck ended Larson's hunt for the third Hangtown 100 victory. After climbing from the car, he gives a very sarcastic applause and double thumbs up to Pursley.

Meanwhile, Pursley took advantage of the wreck and went on to hold off Steven Synder Jr. with a shock broken on the right rear to cross the finish line in P1. He also earned the prize money of $20,000.

Steven Snyder Jr. finished runner-up, followed by Shane Golobic, Landon Brooks, and Justin Grant in the top five. Colby Copeland, Cannon McIntosh, Gunnar Setser, Kevin Thomas Jr., and Kale Drake completed the top 10.

NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series driver Corey Day, who started on pole, walked away from a wild crash with 42 laps to go where he got upside down while battling for the lead. He finished 22nd in the 25-driver field.
