Corey Heim edged out his championship rivals to claim the NASCAR Truck Series title in an overtime finish at the Phoenix Raceway. While the Tricon Garage squad went into a rave, the same cannot be said for Ty Majeski, Tyler Ankrum, and Kaden Honeycutt, who had to face the defeat and shared their reactions on the championship brawl after the dust had settled.Heim arrived in Phoenix as the championship favorite. He had won 11 races in the lead-up to the championship brawl, and he was the best driver throughout the day as he won all three stages en route to winning the Truck Series title. But this meant that the other championship contenders had to return home empty-handed. Reflecting on the race, where Majeski had emerged as the leader in the final laps of the race before losing it to Heim, the 2024 Truck Series champion said:I don't know how close it was but their finger was pretty quick on the yellow light, I was just about to cross the line and the yellow light came on. So I don't know how close it was maybe a truck lengths away from being a two-time champion. I think it was the right call, gave us a shot at the end, and Corey got up through there just a little bit too good... But that restar could have went differently and I feel like that was our best shot of being champions tonight."On the other hand, Tyler Ankrum finished a distant 14th and shared his views after the race:"Super disappointing effort that we made on our end, so we're gonna get better and come back."Meanwhile, Kaden Honeycutt suffered a near-miss, finishing third at the checkered flag, and said after the race:"I don't really know what I should have done differently, honestly. I think the only opportunity I had was for Corey and the 98 to get together and I could have snuck on by... we made ourselves a really good contender tonight."Corey Heim led 100 laps at the Phoenix Raceway en route to championship glory.Corey Heim has had a sensational 2025 NASCAR Truck Series seasonTricon Garage's Corey Heim after winning the NASCAR Truck Series championship at Phoenix - Source: ImagnCorey Heim has been a regular in the Truck Series for years.
