“We go back to where it all began”: Kyle Busch announces head-to-head race against his 10-year-old son Brexton 

Kyle Busch and Brexton Busch would compete at The Bullring at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. This race would make the round 2 of the Battle of Busches, and the pair looks on to competing at their home event for their intra-family fight.

The Busch name is a revered one in the NASCAR sphere. All the Busch racing drivers have hailed from Las Vegas, Nevada, and the family is slated to witness its third-generation driver, Brexton to soon move up the racing ladder.

The 10-year-old currently races winged sprint cars and has a friendly rivalry with his father, who has recently started to compete with him whenever he gets the time off from NASCAR. So, with the 2025 NASCAR season wrapped up, the father and son duo had already lined up their next on-track interaction for the upcoming weekend, after the senior Busch had won the first round of the battle.

The Busch pair will take to the track for the race on November 8 at The Bullring, which makes for a homecoming for them as they posted on Instagram:

"Three generations with countless victories. This time we go back to where it all began, The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Round 2 of SERVPRO Battle of the Busches will be a showdown for the ages."

Since joining Richard Childress Racing in 2023, Kyle Busch's Cup Series trajectory has seemingly plummeted. While he won three races in the first half of his inaugural season with the team, this form soon turned upside down, and he has been in a rut since then.

Moreover, before the Phoenix championship race, Busch had only secured two top-five finishes this year. But this changed at the one-mile track, where he started 11th but ended the race in fifth.

Subsequently, reflecting on his outing at the season finale, the two-time Cup Series champion said (via NBC Sports):

"We struggled with a loose-handling Chevrolet to start the race today at Phoenix Raceway, but crew chief Andy Street and the guys went back the other way on adjustments and our Chevy came to life. It really became good, and we were able to tie corners together better and make some good moves on restarts to get track position. That was a positive note to end the season with a top-five finish and get some momentum for our team and everyone at RCR to get ready for the Daytona 500."

Meanwhile, Busch will remain with RCR through the 2026 season. The team executed an option to extend his contract with the squad until the conclusion of the subsequent season, while details about his future with the team remain under dark clouds after that.
