Ty Majeski was disappointed after he got black flagged for jumping the final restart of the 58th Snowball Derby at Pensacola’s Five Flags Speedway. This allowed Stephen Nasse to win the rain-delayed event, even though it was Majeski who crossed the finish line first. The 31-year-old didn’t pull off the track. Despite not being scored for the final few laps, the NASCAR Truck Series champion made sure to finish the 300-lap event.Majeski didn’t agree with the ruling that sidelined him from what could have been a historic third Snowball Derby win. Speaking with a reporter after the race, Majeski said,“Rule states that you can increase your speed to the line. Got a fire in the box. Felt like I did that. With the way the rules are, you know, there's a little bit more of a gray area with the way the rule's written. And, yeah, they made a... I'm judging the call in the biggest race of the year and probably took away the win from us.”“I felt like I had a really good argument, especially looking at the replay and looking at some of my previous restarts from earlier in the race were exactly the same, and they never called it earlier in the race,” Ty Majeski continued. “So, that's why it bothers me quite a bit…why is the last restart of the race any different from the restart on lap 217 if the rule is the rule. Clearly, the rule is not the rule. So yeah, very disappointed, to say the least.”Stephen Nasse won the race, followed by Dawson Sutton finishing in P2, just 0.87 seconds behind the leader. Jake Garcia ended up third in his No. 35 machine. Spots four through ten were filled out by Kasey Kleyn, Jake Finch, Matt Craig, Ty Fredrickson, Preston Peltier, Haeden Plybon, and Derek Thorn.Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, who was also in the field, finished 19th, three laps down. Majeski, on the other hand, finished 23rd in his No. 91, five laps down. Ryan Preece and Max Reaves were the only two drivers who were credited with zero laps.“I’d like to talk to somebody”- Ty Majeski questions “ball and strike calls” following dismal Snowball Derby outingTy Majeski wasn’t happy with how things ended for him, more so because his had been the most dominant car all day at Five Flags Speedway. Adding to his misery, the governing officials handed Majeski a penalty for jumping the restart twice with only 12 laps to go.Majeski went to technical inspection and protested the decision. Regardless of how it ended, the Seymour, Wisconsin-native felt like he should have won the coveted crown jewel.“The way the rule is written is not black and white. So, it leaves a lot of questions and kind of balls and strike calls,” Ty Majeski explained. “Yeah, I don’t know. I don’t have much to say. Fast Menards Ford Fusion with iRacing on the hood. Obviously, the dominant racecar.”“So, yeah, I’d like to talk to somebody. So, whoever race control is, I’d like to at least have a conversation about it,” he added.Next up for Ty Majeski is the season-opening Truck Series event at Daytona International Speedway on February 13, 2026. He will be back in his No. 98 ThorSport Racing Ford for his second full season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
